First, this is a great piece of furniture and the self storing leaf is very easy to operate. I had seen similar tables at high end catalog stores and this looks identical to their product.

Unfortunately, it does scratch easily. And being dark, they all show so you do have to occasionally rub down with a dark furniture polish or wax.

But just to forwarn you - since it is a trestle table, the leaf stores underneath unlike depicted in the online photo where the base connects directly to the top. (It still looks great but there is a 6-8" void for the leaf storage between table base and top.)

This is my second table, as the first base support was damaged in transit. Instead of being able to switch out the broken part, the whole table had to be replaced. Kind of a pain, but the c/s was great and very responsive. Will definitely use hayneedle again for future purchases.

This table is great. I really enjoy it because it matches everything else in our dining room. It is easy to clean, a good hight, and because of its round shape it is great for conversations.
